The corrective engineering jobs are carried out by methods of welding, hard-chrome plating, machining, grinding and dynamical balancing etc. They are done both in house and out sources to guarantee high quality standard and customer satisfaction. New Steel Bases
![]() We are able to either visit on site to measure up the existing roll bases or measure in house at our facility. We then produce an Autocad drawing which the customer approves before commencement. We also have many hundred drawings on file. It is crucial that we use the best possible but affordable metals to ensure the roller will last for many years. We always stress relieve the barrel and journal than machine to required surface finishes. Anilox Cleaning ![]() Sodium Bicarbonate blasting This is the more conventionally used method. The Sodium Bicarbonate is blasted on the roller surface through a low pressure nozzle. The soda media will break down the ink in the cells without damage to the cell walls. Usually the method is quick and efficient, except for some tough varnish and inks which need different cleaning methods. Ultrasound Cleaning System For some tough inks and varnish, the above cleaning methods will not work, then a laser cleaning will be more effective. The inks and varnish will be burnt in a de-focused laser beam which is tuned to burn out the residues in the cells without damage to any cell structure. This method is only applied when normal cleaning is not effective because of the higher cost. LASERLIFE LITTLEJOHN have the facilities to clean your anilox roller. We inspect the roller in house, checking general condition; tir and bearing journals. The roller is then cleaned by one of our many cleaning methods. On completion we supply a report that includes the actual measurements of the anilox screen together with a general condition of the roller. We are able to clean your anilox overnight if required. |
