Troika FlexoCAM

FlexoCAM was developed for the label, carton, newspaper and corrugated markets where surface inspection and depth measurement, particularly of halftone dots, is needed.

Troika Announces Launch of Flexo Plate-II-Print

Troika Systems Limited have launched its Flexo Plate-II-Print product.

The hand held Flexo Plate-II-Print is an inexpensive tool for flexographic printers to check both plate quality and print quality quickly and efficiently. This latest introduction completes a trilogy of quality control products designed and manufactured by Troika Systems for the flexographic sector of the printing industry. It joins the FlexoCAM – a high-quality instrument for checking the fine detail of a flexographic plate – and the AniCAM – a quality control instrument for measuring the volume of cells on anilox cylinders.

“Flexo Plate-II-Print completes the package,” said Troika managing director Phil Hall. “This compact instrument gives the flexographic printer a fast and simple way of checking screen angles, dot size, and screen count. It will mean that the printer can check the critical details of a plate or printed sample in just a few minutes – even while it is on the press if necessary.”

Too often flexographic plate problems mean significant press downtime, and heated debates between the printer and the plate manufacturer regarding where fault might lie. Flexo Plate-II-Print has been designed to help eliminate such issues.

Twinlock sleeves provide sound solutions in plate mounting. Self adhesive sleeves can be applied to either new or old sleeves and provide the highest print quality. A Twinlock sleeve has a relative hard surface, combined with a soft P.U. compressable foam. This combination results in less dot gain and an improved solid.

With fast changing times, clean mounting and demounting, the long lasting adhesion and the permanent compressibility. Perfect print results on lines, solids and screens. Printing plates can be mounted without using double sided (foam)-tape. Unlike tape Twinlock’s surface is re-usable. Twinlock does not suffer from “compression wearout.

The Digiscope is a versatile unit used for various functions within Flexographic and Gravure areas. This allows you to assess whether cells are blocked with ink, damaged or worn. The assessment takes place directly on the press with just a quick wash of the area to be checked. A digital camera allows you to download images and create a reference file for each individual roller. The camera is detachable and can be used for a range of other support areas. i.e. Creating pictures of other mechanical parts causing breakdowns, which can be sent on to overseas suppliers or your distributor for assessment and advice.

Anilox rollers range from containing 250 lines per inch to 1100 lines per inch and require a microscopic clean. Ultrasonic cleaning is one of the only methods that will effectively clean all the individual microscopic ink cells on the anilox rollers. The result of all the research has led to the establishment of a range of machines called the Sonic Life range. There are models for narrow web and wide web rollers.

The Sonic Life machines are fully self contained units that include a pump and filtration system and an overflow weir. This ensures that the chemistry used in the cleaning process is filtered and therefore has a longer tank life, thus saving costs. The machines also all come with a rotation mechanism that revolves relatively slowly to ensure that an even clean is achieved. This is essential to provide the best print quality possible.

With the Polymount plate cleaner you can fully, automatically clean dirty printing plates. The plate cleaner flushes, brushes and dries the plates, resulting in a perfectly clean plate surface. With the unique (Twinlock) sticky plate system, plates are held firmly in place during washing and drying . The cleaning process completes the cycle of l M2 in approximately 5-10 minutes After washing the plates can be stored immediately. All you do is hit a button and your plates are cleaned automatically.
